The Ride

So, this is awkward. I’m officially writing my first post to whoever happens to stumble upon it, whoever has actually gone looking for it, or whoever has been called upon (begged) by myself to read it. I have just stepped over the threshold of normal (keeping your crap to yourself because nobody really cares) into the land of narcissism (oops!)–I mean social networking. No…I’m not a hater. I’m….a sucker.

Now I have been on Facebook for quite some time because that’s normal since I am just sharing pictures of my kids with my friends (583 Boo Yah) and family, and that’s my main purpose. I don’t go creeping through profiles trying to see what others are doing that I’m not. I would never do that because that would make me seem pathetic. LOL! I’m just kidding folks!

I do the same stuff on Facebook that every other “normal” American does–I take all the “great” happenings in my life and throw it out there (as though anybody beyond friends and family cares) and I create a life designed by me. Let’s face it– people aren’t typically writing about how ugly they are, how stupid their kids are, how unsuccessful they are, or how they don’t ever have anything fun to do. We all know it’s quite the opposite.

In fact, it is now acceptable to take a picture of a plate of food (halfway eaten might I add- that’s a subject for another time) and share it, rub people’s noses in the fact that they’re on some fabulous vacation in the South of France while their friends are NOT (Ha Ha Whoo Hoooo!!!) , and talk incessantly about their ingrown toenail completely equipped with a dreadful picture from their handy-dandy smartphone (just in case someone couldn’t quite get through their day without seeing it). Say it with me—TMI.

Well, I REFUSE to be left out! Sooooo, I will be sharing what was typically private in my life with complete strangers. Afterall, that is the new norm. They call this “blogging” because to call it writing to people to get attention is just too long. Fancy, technologically savvy name. Luuuuuuuuv it! (that was very sing songy–luuuuuuv iiiiiit)

Anywhoo…stay tuned, buckle up and join me and the insanity that is my world. It’s guaranteed to be an enjoyable ride. (Hey! You just made it through 400 plus words–that’s a good sign isn’t it?)

All future blogging will be somewhat shorter….maybe. Please come back. 🙂
